Overview
The Tsho Rolpa Trek is a journey through the Rolwaling mountain ranges’ core Himalayan peaks. It shares boundaries with the Mount Langtang range to the west and the majestic Mt. Everest massifs to the east. The Tsho Rolpa is located in the northeastern region of Nepal’s Bagmati Province, close to the Dolakha district.
Ten Days Tsho Rolpa Lake covers 1.65 kilometers and is located at the base of the Rolwaling mountains. At 4540 meters, it is surrounded by white, towering peaks. The Sherpa tongue literally translates Tsho Rolpa as “Lake of Rolwaling Valley.” Because of the water’s ability to change color, the locals refer to this lake as Pokhari. The Rolwaling region holds religious significance for both Buddhists and Hindus due to its glacier and river-cut valleys.
A humorous adventure, the Trek to Tsho Rolpa traces the course of the Tama Koshi River back to its source. During your trip, you will come across the varied flora and fauna of the Gaurishankar Conservation Area. An additional treat of this tour is visiting little hamlets inhabited by Sherpa people who follow Tibetan Buddhism.
Magnificent peaks like Tashi Lapcha Peak (5,761 m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Melungtse (7,181 m), Gauri Shankar (7,134 m), and Yalung Ri (5,630 m) are all part of the Rolwaling mountain range. These peaks will provide you with unparalleled beauty and breathtaking views throughout your trip to Tsho Rolpa Lake. Reaching 4540 meters, Tsho Rolpa Lake is the highest point of the route.
The Tsho Rolpa Trekking Route is a remote area of terrain that not many people travel to. Since the hiking industry in Nepal has long been kept out of these mountains, the area’s natural topography and atmosphere have remained intact. Trekking to Tsho Rolpa Lake in Rolwaling Valley, Nepal, may be the ideal option for those seeking an unexplored trekking route.
At 2020 meters in Simigaun, at the foot of Rolwaling Valley, we start our hike. After that, the path climbs as it goes by tiny Sherpa settlements next to the rushing Tama Koshi River. Little tea shops can be found all along the route. There are several different geological distributions during this route.
For the first few days of your adventure, you will be walking through tropical and subtropical forests. Himalayan valleys come into view at Bedding when you climb above 4000 meters. The trekking track is then dominated by alpine and semi-alpine terrain, with towering mountains encircling it.
The majority of the region past Bedding is covered in rocky landslides, river streams that emerge from Rolwaling glaciers, glacial lakes, glacial moraines, and glaciers. Tsho Rolpa Lake is a blue body of water nestled between enormous mountains. Additionally, the enormous Gaurishankar Conservation Area to the south, the Langdung Himal to the north, and the Rolwaling glaciers to the east flank it.
Its position is ideal for anyone seeking a secluded entry point away from crowded hiking paths. Trekking Boundless Adventures has easy access to information on Tsho Rolpa. Please contact us if you would like more details.
The Trekking Map offers thorough information on the route. Starting in Kathmandu, the route follows the Araniko Highway eastward to the Dolakha area. We descend to the Tamakoshi River from the Dolakha district headquarters, Charikot, and follow the river bed to the lake.
